fate..or freewill?

Aish..took so many brain cells to write this..so if I'm not making sense, sowwie -.-

There are many metaphors/analogies about Life. My favourite one is that of the puzzle. "Life is like a puzzle and blah blah blah.." But it fits, perfectly (ahaha, pun, yeah I know, I'm lame o_o). Each piece of the puzzle of Life represents some event or occurrence that happened in your life. And in the end (when you die, sorry to be so blunt), they all come together to form one big puzzle. Every puzzle fits accordingly to the puzzle, just like how every event in your life shapes and sculpts you as a person to be the one you were meant to be. Although along the journey of Life,   things may seem difficult to accept and confusing at first, but in the end, it will all come together and the puzzle will become clear, and of course, finished.

So there are the puzzle pieces, the person who solves the puzzle, and the maker of the puzzle. Obviously, you are the one who solves the puzzle, but who makes it? There has to be someone to make that puzzle, right? Puzzle pieces are inanimate objects, they can't just suddenly appear out of thin air..

Behind the curtains, behind all the commotion, I think there just needs to be someone or something who determines it all. This is where Fate comes in. Although you think you have the freedom to do whatever you want, like reading this blog, getting up, sitting down, taking the bus, etc., but it's the BEHIND THE SCENES that is actually figuring all this out. Take the puzzle analogy: every puzzle piece is differently made, differently crafted, each with a unique shape that has a unique place in the puzzle. I mean, sure you're the one putting it together

It represents a part of your life. But altogether, they connect to form a whole puzzle..of your life. So even though it may seem like you are the one making all the decisions and given the freedom to do whatever you choose, it is actually Fate that hands the puzzle over to you, for you to piece it all together.

That's just what I think.

  1. Some really interesting ideas here, Liz. I liked the following lines: "Behind the curtains, behind all the commotion, I think there just needs to be someone or something who determines it all. This is where Fate comes in. Although you think you have the freedom to do whatever you want, like reading this blog, getting up, sitting down, taking the bus, etc., but it's the BEHIND THE SCENES that is actually figuring all this out." The notion that WE are free to put this 'puzzle' together is really interesting.
